My elderly grandmother has been smoking in her home for over 30 years, so naturally, her whole home was covered with the smell of smoke. In December 2016, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and it has been an uphill battle ever since. The Doctors shared that she will never be cancer-free and will need to be on an oxygen tank for the rest of her life, even while she is in the comfort of her own home.

Although her complications from smoking haven’t left her or her home in the best shape, she desperately looked for products that would help alleviate the smoke odor and help her breathe easier in her home. Unfortunately, no product seemed to help.

I started working in the HVAC Industry in 2020. My company always talked about the benefit of air scrubbers and I’ve personally placed them in ten client’s homes. However, unless I returned to the client’s home, I never truly see the full effect it had on a Client’s home and health. After many failed products and hard conversations with my Grandmother, I pushed through her reluctance and took it upon myself to install an air scrubber in her home.

After two weeks of the air scrubber being installed my Grandmother called me to share that she noticed a HUGE difference in her ability to breathe in her home, get this, WITHOUT the oxygen tank! As soon as she called, I rushed over to visit to see if I could tell the difference, after 30+ years of smoking inside, the odor had dissipated dramatically, and seeing my Grandmother walk around without her oxygen tank was the best feeling. I knew the benefits, but seeing is believing. My Grandmother constantly checks in with me to make sure that I come by and check that her air scrubber is working as she doesn’t want to go a day without a functioning air scrubber! I am always happy to oblige as seeing her comfortable in her home, is what matters the most to me.

My wife Anura has had terrible allergies for years particularly with dust mites. It was so severe that we even tried pulling up all our carpet and installing wood floors. When a spotted skunk found its way into our heating ducts, the worst happened: he was electrocuted on the furnace heating coils and the odors of burnt animal fur and skunk smell were efficiently distributed throughout our 2500 square foot home via our central heating system. It was terrible! The odor was so strong you could smell it outside the house. My husband and I and our two teenage sons all experienced nausea and headaches. Your service technician was our hero. He crawled under our house, disassembled the heater, and removed the skunk. He then recommended we install an Air Scrubber into our ventilation system. I was skeptical that a small box installed in our ducting would solve the odor problems. 

Our clothes, our bedding, the furniture all smelled like a skunk! Desperate for a solution, I scheduled the installation.

The change was nothing short of remarkable. After 24 hours the smell had dramatically dissipated. Perhaps my burnt sinuses could no longer identify anything at all? A friend stopped by and said it had noticeably improved. Three days after installation, my sons had friends over to the house, and even when given the whole story of what happened, no one could smell anything!

I didn’t have to launder all our clothing and linens. Draperies didn’t need to come down. The furniture didn’t need to be cleaned. Our coats hung on wall pegs over an air vent and all the linings had smelled especially bad. They’re now perfectly fine and I did nothing but let them continue to hang on the pegs. In an upstairs bathroom, I noticed clumps of hair in the air vent. I pulled a ball of skunk hair out but there was no odor. 

The whole experience of working with LifeTime Heating Cooling was wonderful. From the woman who answers your phone to the on-site technicians to the follow-up calls I received afterward, all the members of staff were friendly and professional. I just wanted to tell you how your products have completely changed my life. We were given an air purification system as a gift and had no idea the impact that the set would have on our lives. I have struggled with allergies since I became pregnant for the first time in 2010, and my allergies have only increased with each child, as well as seasonally. In an attempt to help me feel better, my husband purchased some Afrin nose spray for me during that initial pregnancy, and I did not realize that I would become addicted to it. I used it through four pregnancies and have used it at least twice daily and once or twice during the night for all these eight years. After one week of having the air scrubber in our home, I have COMPLETELY stopped using the nose spray. I realized one night that I had not reached for it at all that day and have NEVER needed it again.

As owners of a childhood development school, our priority is the wellbeing and safety of our children and staff. Our facility is approximately 8500 square feet with a capacity for 100 plus children, ages 6 weeks through 5 years old. To improve the indoor air quality by reducing overall germs and odors, we began researching products and options that would purify and clean the air our children and staff were breathing.

In January of 2020, we have installed Air Scrubbers by Aerus in our school. They were easy to install. It took us less than 30 minutes per unit. We have been at this school since February of 2007. During this time, we have seen several cases of the flu and other viruses every winter. After the installation, we had 0 (zero) cases of the flu! This is incredible!

We also experience large diapering odors in our toddler classrooms. After the installation, we noticed a decrease in these odors. We also do not see any change to our electric bill.
